Yoution Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-05

Yoution (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a note-taking and study tool that turns your documents into outlines, quizzes, and diagrams. This Privacy Policy applies across all platforms we offer Yoution on — our website, and our iOS and Android apps — and explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or advertising identifiers, and we do not run ads or third-party tracking in Yoution.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create and identify your account.
  • Google Docs content — if you connect Google Docs, we access the specific documents you choose to import (via Google’s OAuth consent) so we can generate outlines, quizzes, and diagrams from them. We do not access documents you have not selected.
  • Content you create — notes, uploaded documents, generated quizzes/outlines/diagrams, and related study data are stored in our database.
  • Usage data — feature usage (e.g. generation requests, credit balance) is logged to operate quotas and prevent abuse.
  • Push notification token — if you enable notifications in the app, we store a device token to deliver them. You can disable this anytime in your device settings.

Yoution does not collect precise location, contacts, photos/camera, or microphone data, and does not request those device permissions.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the core features of Yoution (outline/quiz/diagram generation).
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse of the service.
  • To communicate with you about your account or the service, when necessary.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your document content to train AI models.

3. Google User Data

This section specifically addresses data Yoution accesses through Google APIs (“Google user data”), as required by the Google API Services User Data Policy.

  • What we access — when you sign in with Google, we access your basic profile (name, email address, profile picture). If you separately choose to connect Google Docs, we additionally access the specific document(s) you select to import, via a document-scoped Google Docs OAuth grant.
  • How we use it — your Google profile is used only to create and authenticate your Yoution account. Imported Google Docs content is used only to generate the outline, quiz, and/or diagram you requested from that document, and is then stored in your Yoution account like any other note you create.
  • Who we share it with — we do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with third parties for advertising or any purpose unrelated to operating Yoution. Google user data is processed only by the infrastructure providers listed in Section 4 (Supabase for storage, and AI model providers solely to generate your outline/quiz/diagram), each acting as a data processor on our behalf.
  • Retention & deletion — Google profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. Imported Google Docs content is retained as part of your notes under the same retention rules described in Section 5, and is deleted when you delete the note or your account (Section 7). You can revoke Yoution’s access to your Google Docs at any time from your Google Account permissions page, independently of deleting data already imported.

Yoution’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties to operate Yoution:

  • Google — for Sign-In authentication and, if you opt in, Google Docs import via Google’s OAuth API.
  • Supabase — for database, authentication, and storage infrastructure.
  • AI model providers — document content you submit may be sent to large language model providers solely to generate your outlines, quizzes, and diagrams.

These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see below).

6. Your Choices & Rights

  • You can disconnect Google Docs access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
  • Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing.
  • To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Yoution account and all associated data (profile, notes, imported documents, generated content, and usage history) at any time by emailing us with the subject “Delete my account”. We will complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by email.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, by the service providers listed in Section 4. We take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.

10. Children’s Privacy

Yoution is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
